BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) — Officials in Burlington are trying to figure out the cause of a water main break that's led to a boil advisory.
The break Sunday afternoon prompted the advisory in Burlington and West Burlington until at least Tuesday night.
Burlington Municipal Waterworks Director Alan Borden says the broken pipe is made of material that should last longer. He added that fixing the break won't be easy, since the city doesn't have all the necessary equipment to do so. The repair will cost about $100,000.
The Burlington Hawk Eye reports (http://bit.ly/O5H0Pt ) the city will use an extra line built parallel to the broken one in the meantime.
