Woody’s Charities a success again

February 9, 2011
Estherville News

Saturday, Feb. 5 was a great day for Estherville and Woody's Charities. We hosted our 4th annual Dinner and Dance at the Elk's Club in Estherville. It was a great success.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors. They are The Elk's Club, Blum-Leonard Agency, Northstar Bank and Agency, Comfortec Plumbing and Heating, Estherville Daily News, KILR Radio, Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative, Computer Zone, Motor Inn Auto Group, KUOO Radio, and Woody's Pizza.

We also would like to recognize our Queen and King candidates. They are Rick and Cheryl Houseman, Bob and Jean Grems, John and Jenny Christensen, and Ron and Maryann Menendez. These individuals donated their time and efforts to help us raise over $2800. Each couple had a box, the couple with the most money in their box was crowned the winner. The winner of this years Queen and King Competition was Bob and Jean Grems.

Others we need to thanks are the ones that helped put the event together and most of the time were not visible, but very important. They are Ora and Deb Weston, Lori Neilsen, and Mike and Edith Clarken.

With the help of these great community minded businesses and individuals we were able to raise in excess of $10,000.00 in one night.

If you were unable to attend please visit our web site to see the fun we had. The address is www.woodyspizza.com and follow the links to the dance.

We are constantly amazed at the generosity of our community and are honored to live in a community that is as compassionate as ours.

Tony & Jody Condon,
