To the Editor,
Saturday marked the 15th year of the American Cancer Society Emmet County Relay for Life. And WOW what a success it was! We would like to start out by saying THANK YOU to the following:
Boys Scout Troop #31 for providing man power and the raising of the flag, Woody's Pizza for the donation of pizza, Pizza Hut for the donation of pizza for our Relay Kick Off, City of Estherville for the use of Library Square, Estherville Public Library for the use of the library, Estherville Park and Recreation Department for the use of picnic tables and bleachers, Emmet County Courthouse for the use of the restrooms, ELC Schools for the use of the track for the mini-relay, Hy-Vee for daffodil storage and pickup, Presbyterian Church for the use of the basement for our meetings, Armstrong Community Center for the "More Birthdays Celebration" Supper, Br. Bruns and Williams for storing our Relay supplies, All the business that helped sponsor the newspaper insert, Belva Henrickson for putting together the style show, Iowa Lakes Community College for the use of the sound system and the tents, Chris McArdle for being our MC for the day, Health Source- Dr. Cory Rezac- for the massages in the education tent.
Whether you are a corporate sponsor, event sponsor, hour of hope sponsor, survivor, relay for life committee member or team captain or you gave a donation you made Emmet County shine like a star.
Becky and I would like to say "THANK YOU" to Dana Kauffman, our American Cancer Society staff partner, on behalf of the entire county for helping us to organize the 2011 American Cancer Society Emmet County Relay for Life. Also a special thank you to the committee and team captains for all of your hard work.
