Thanks for donating at the blood drive

December 8, 2011
Estherville Daily News

It is time to thank the citizens of Estherville again for their kind giving at the last blood drive. The Red Cross was at Iowa Lakes Community College Christensen Center on Tuesday, Nov. 29,2011 holding a blood drive sponsored by the Aviation Club.

We had quite a few students come in to donate, some for the first time. Among the first time donors were student Nicole Meyer and non-student Michelle Pattison. Thank you for giving the first time ladies. Scott McDermott was awarded his 2-gallon pin; keep up the good work, Scott.

There were a couple of different things done at this drive, the first being a drawing for a $50 gift card which was won by Brian McLaren. The second special thing was a visit from Brownie Troop #136. The Brownies came to help in the canteen, passing out cookies and drinks. They were working on their Community Service Badge and I am certain that each one of them succeeded.

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to collect 73 units of much needed blood. I hope everyone has a blessed and happy Christmas season and continue the good feeling of this season into the new year. The next blood drive will be on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012. Hope to see you there!

Thanks again

Donna Day-Templin
