To the EDN:
Teamwork on Saturday, March 4 helped Respite Angels to have a successful soup lunch. Girl Scout leaders Cheri and Marlene and the hard working young ladies from their troops gave up extra hands and smiles. Thank you to all that came to our event, donated items for the silent auction, and bake sale or helped in anyway. It takes a team to hold an event and we are very thankful for all of the helping hands and that helped us and to all the faithful volunteers that keep helping each time we call with need. Thank you to the Estherville Daily News and KILR radio, you are both so good at covering the events going on in our community.
The soup lunch at the Masonic Lodge was a great way to team up with others for a common cause. There are great joys in caring for another but there is also stress and heartbreak, respite care provides a break from caregiving to give the caregiver a little time to do something for his or herself.
