The Estherville City Council moved forward with the airport apron pavement rehabilitation project.
At its regular meeting on Monday, the council approved a contract for engineering service of the $99,679.33 project.
According to city administrator Penny Clayton, the Federal Aviation Administration will pay for 90 percent of the project.
In other business Monday, council set a public hearing for the proposed sale of 216 and 220 S. Sixth Street following the receipt of separate bids for each lot.
Council also approved a resolution approving a Title VI non-discrimination agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation.
According to Clayton, the DOT is requiring all cities and towns to have Title VI on file to be eligible for any federal aid for projects.
Council approved a bid from Advanced Door Systems of Spencer for overhead doors at the city's street garage.
Council approved a sign permit application submitted by Julie Kern for property located at 1814 Central Avenue (SignSational Designs).
Yard Waste Collection to begin Monday, Oct. 8
Clayton announced that yard waste collection will begin Monday, Oct. 8. Yard waste must be in plain black bags. City waste will be collected in regular city bags.
