ARMSTRONG - Funeral services for Craig 'Punk' Nelsen, 65, of Armstrong will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Armstrong with Pastor Paul Wiegman officiating. Visitation will be noon until the time of the service Monday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Armstrong. Interment will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Ringsted.
He died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at his home in Armstrong.
Craig Norman Nelsen (Punk), son of Norman and Wilma (Sampson) Nelsen, was born at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville on July 23, 1947.
Punk was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ringsted. He received his education at Halfa School through eighth grade and graduated from Ringsted High School in 1965. He entered the US Peace Corps in 1971 and served for two years in Ecuador in South America.
He was employed at Arts Way and then for the last 27 years at Weigh Tronix in Fairmont, Minn., as team leader. He enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time in his garage working on his cars.
Punk was preceded in death by his father, Norman, in November 2008.
He is survived by his mother, Wilma, of Estherville; two brothers, Gary Nelsen and his wife, Nancy, of Spencer and Jon Nelsen of Houston; two sisters, Julie Kelch and her husband, Mike, of Ankeny and Lori Orth and her husband, Curt, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five nieces; five nephews and nine great-nieces and nephews.
