But the Lakers' Deondre Parks scored next and Kelly Madison converted a three-point play to push the lead back to seven, 40-33, at the break.
The Alumni didn't get closer than six points in the second half and the Lakers kept a double digit lead throughout the final 10 minutes of the contest.
The Alumni finished with 15 three-pointers compared to seven by the Lakers.
