Iowa Lakes pulls away from NECC

NORFOLK, Neb. - Iowa Lakes quickly rebounded from its first loss on Friday with an 84-72 win over Northeast Community College on Saturday.

Ben Shellim scored 13 of his 18 points during a 2-minute span in the second half to help the Lakers pull away from a 44-42 half-time lead.

Kelly Madison led the Lakers with 27 points while Josh Schaben contributed a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The Lakers finished with 16 assists led by Kevin Larson and Madison with five apiece. Larson also pulled down eight rebounds.

KJ Bluford led Northeast with 20 points while Sean Scott had 17 and Khapri Alston had 13.

Iowa Lakes (3-1 overall) travels to Burlington this Sunday to take on Southeast Community College.
