CHEROKEE - The Spirit Lake boys earned their first Lakes Conference win of the season with a 57-28 win over Cherokee on Tuesday.
The Indians held the Braves to three points each in the first two quarters on building a 21-6 lead at halftime.
The scoring picked up in the second half with Spirit Lake still doubling up Cherokee's point total, 26-13, in the third quarter to lead 47-19.
Paul Brown led the Indians with 18 points, three assists and two steals. Tyler Alger finished with 13 points and nine rebounds. Alec Henrickson chipped in nine points while Zach Arneson, Alex Pringnitz and Sam Harms each had five and Cole Thate had two.
Pringnitz and Harms each had eight rebounds and Harms also had four assists.
Spirit Lake (3-2 overall, 1-2 in the Lakes Conference) is on the road against Western Christian (4-0) on Friday.
