Application deadline for community foundation grants announced

EMMET COUNTY - The Emmet County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, is announcing a new funding cycle for grants to be awarded in 2013. The application deadline for all 2013 grants will be midnight (CST) on March 1, 2013, with grant awards to be announced in June.

Community foundation grants can be awarded to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations and governmental entities. Grants can be awarded in seven broad areas of community enhancement. These include: Arts & Culture, Community Affairs & Development, Education, Environment, Health, Historic Preservation, and Human Services.

The applications will only be available online this year. Grants applications that are incomplete or that are submitted in hard copy form will not be considered for funding. The applications can be accessed after Jan. 8, 2013, at through the "grants" menu on the website's home page.

To address potential questions or concerns regarding the new online application process, a training session for grant applicants will be held Jan. 8, 2013 at 5:30-6:45 p.m. at the Estherville Public Library (Conference Room). To attend, please RSVP to Penny Clayton ECCF Chair, at 712-209-4343.
