Emmetsburg police seek tire slashers

Emmetsburg Police are asking for the public's help in their investigation of a dozen reports of vehicle tires being slashed in the city.

Emmetsburg Police Chief Eric Hanson says his department received 13 separate reports of slashed tires during the overnight hours of Dec. 22 and Dec. 23.. All vehicles were parked outside in their respective driveways when they were slashed with a sharp instrument.

Of the 13 residences where criminal mischief occurred, 24 tires were slashed. The amount of damage is estimated at $4,600.

The Emmetsburg Police Department is offering a $500 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for these acts of criminal mischief.
