The Estherville City Council will meet in regular session at 5 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7 in the council chambers at city hall.
Under the old business, the council will hold a public hearing on the proposed sale of excess city property. After the hearing, council will consider approving the sale of the real estate.
Under new business, Council will consider ratification of tentative agreements with Estherville Police/AFSCME Council 61 for the 2012-15 Police Labor Agreement and with Local 79, UFCW for the 2012-15 Public Works Labor Agreement.
Council will consider setting a date for a public hearing on a request to reclassify the zoning of a Tract in Vacated 2nd Avenue South, North of Lots 1 & 2, Block 70, Original Plat, a Tract in Vacated 2nd Avenue South, North of Lots 3 & 4, Block 70, Original Plat, Lots 1, 2, 3 & 4, Block 70, Original Plat (Except Railroad Property), Part of Lots 5, 7 & 8, Block 70, Original Plat & Adjacent Tract (Except Railroad Property), Lot 1, Division 1, Auditor's Plat 15-73 from General Business to Highway Commercial.
Council will consider an application from Troy Matheason requesting a partial property tax exemption as defined in the City's Urban Revitalization Plan.
Kathy Evert of Iowa Lakes Corridor Development will present an update.
Council will consider a request from the Iowa Lakes Corridor to become a member of Skilled Iowa.
The council will be requested to review the present charge for default snow removal and proposed changes recommended by city staff.
Council will consider a resolution setting date for public hearing on general obligation sanitary sewer improvements loan agreement in principal amount not to exceed $1,200,000.
