WEST BEND - The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire boys rallied from a six-point deficit to start the final quarter to defeat rival West Bend-Mallard 57-56 on Tuesday.
The Wolverines jumped out to a 15-13 lead in the first quarter with the Titans taking a 29-27 lead into the locker room.
In the third quarter, West Bend-Mallard took charge to lead 43-37 heading into the final frame.
"The boys played very hard against a very competitive West Bend Mallard team," said GTRA coach Randy Hough of his squad, who have now won two straight games to start the second half of the season. "We played very good defense the last three minutes of the game and did a good job of taking the ball to the basket on offense."
Connor Sturgill led the Titans with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Austin Dyer finished with 18 points and five assists. Marcus Girres contributed 11 points, five rebounds and four assists. Trevor Hagendorn had four points and four assists. Lane Reiman had three points and for rebounds. Mason McGrauth had four assists.
GTRA (4-7 overall, 4-2 in the Cornbelt Conference) hosts Pocahontas Area/Pomeroy-Palmer on Thursday.
