NEWELL - Adam Reiter hit three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and Carsten Bosch's hit the go-ahead basket to complete an Estherville Lincoln Central rally against Newell-Fonda for a 59-56 win on Thursday.

"Our guys kept our composure and just kept battling," said ELC coach York Plagge.

The Midgets trailed 45-31 heading into the final quarter with Reiter opening up with a pair of 3-pointers. Two baskets by David Hughes got ELC back within nine, but ELC still trailed by nine with 2 minutes left in the game.

However, Reiter's third trey of the period brought ELC within six, 55-49.

The Midgets forced a coupe turnovers and Joe Heinrichs only basket of the night brought ELC within four at 55-51.

After ELC starting point guard Evan Hansen fouled out, Bosch was inserted into the game.

The two teams exchanged free throws and then Bosch was fouled. But he missed the front end of a one-and-one. However Matt Burrell rebounded the miss and was fouled. He made both free throws to cut the deficit to two, 56-54, with 2 minutes left in the game.

After a Mustang miss, Burrell tied the game with a putback at 56-56.

The Midgets forced another turnover and this time Bosch drove baseline and hit a layup to put ELC on top 58-56 with 22 seconds left.

After a timeout, Newell-Fonda had its chances with at least three straight offensive rebounds, but couldn't convert. Burrell was fouled with under 10 seconds left in the game. He made a free throw for the game's final margin. Newell-Fonda missed its final 3-pointer.

Reiter finished with 16 points while Burrell had 14 and Hughes had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
