MASON CITY - The Iowa Lakes men didn't make it easy in defeating North Iowa Area Community College 81-76 on Saturday.
The Lakers led 49-40 at the break and then held on to preserve the win.
"It was an ugly game but we found a way to win," said Iowa Lakes coach Troy Larson.
Josh Schaben led five Lakers in double digits with 19 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field and 9-of-10 from the free throw line. He also had a team-high eight rebounds. Deondre Parks finished with 16 points, three assists and four steals. Kelly Madison had 15 points and three assists while Ben Shellim had 12 points, Diamontae McKinley had 10 and Colton Neff had nine.
David Humphries led North Iowa with 20 points.
