RUTHVEN - Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire girls got back in the win column with a 57-39 win over Corwith-Wesley-Luverne on Friday. It was the Titan's first win since beating the Panthers 45-19 on Nov. 30.
GT/Ra led 11-8 after one quarter and the two teams were tied at 28-28 at the break. But GTRA won the third quarter 10-2 and the fourth 19-9 to pull out the victory.
"After a slow start in the first half the girls played a very good second half," said GTRA coach Todd Hough. "Our defense was much tougher in the second half which led to some easy baskets and got us going offensively."
Lauren-Flaharty led GTRA with 17 points, including 3-for-7 from 3-point range. She also had six rebounds and three assists.
Brooke Hoffman finished with 15 points. Grace Skattebo and Marly Bakken each scored eight points while Emily Moran had seven and Morgan McGrauth had two.
Bakken had a team-high 10 rebounds while Skattebo had five steals.
GTRA (4-9 overall, 3-4 in the Cornbelt Conference hosts North Union in Graettinger on Friday.
