MARCUS - A poor shooting night cost the Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire girls a chance at a victory against Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn on Saturday.
The host Eagles pulled out a 36-34 victory.
"We did not shoot the ball very well tonight from the field or from the free throw line," said GTRA coach Todd Hough. "We were 25 percent from the field and 33 percent from the line. It's tough to win when the ball won't go in."
The Titans led 4-3 after one quarter and 12-11 at halftime when the Eagles came alive to lead 25-22 after three quarters.
GTRA was 13-of-52 from the field and 6-of-18 from the free throw line.
Grace Skattebo led the Titans with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Cassy Hampson finished with nine points and Brooke Hoffman, Lauren Flaharty and Marly Bakken each had three points and Emily Moran had one. Hoffman had four assists and two steals. Flaharty had seven steals and Morgan McGrauth had three steals and two assists.
GTRA (4-11 overall) was on the road against Corwith-Wesley-Luverne on Tuesday. The Titans host Trinity Christian in Ruthven on Friday.
