ESTHERVILLE - Funeral services for Beverly Foster, 77, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at First Christian Church in Estherville with Pastor Doug Burton officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville.
She died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at the Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.
Beverly Faye (Marsh) Foster, the daughter of Charles and Edna (Dailey) Marsh, was born Nov. 4, 1935, in Spencer.
She received her education in the Mallard and Estherville schools.
On Aug. 23, 1953, she was united in marriage to Jack Foster in Jackson, Minn. After their marriage, the couple made their home in several rural communities in Northwest Iowa. While raising their four children, in Sherburn, Minn., they started a family roofing business, Foster and Son Roofing. In 1982, they moved to Estherville, purchasing the Skyline Motel and Bev worked at Good Samaritan Society for 16 years as a caring CNA. She especially enjoyed working in the Memory Care Unit at Good Samaritan. She retired from Good Samaritan in 1998. Bev also worked for Emmet County Public Health until her retirement in 2008. Jack passed away on Feb. 6, 2004. In her leisure time Bev enjoyed sewing, crocheting, playing cards and goofing around with her family. Her biggest enjoyments in life were having family dinners on Sundays and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bev was a member of the First Christian Church in Estherville. She enjoyed crocheting, flowers and especially spending time with her family.
Left to cherish Bev's memory are her four children, Rodney Foster and his wife, Kathy, of Armstrong, Terry Foster of Estherville, Cliff Foster and his wife, Cathy, of Chelsea and Kay Besaw and her husband, Dave, of Estherville; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Marsh, and his wife, Marge, of Brainerd, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Betty Marsh and Betty Foster and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She has been preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Lavon "Bud" Marsh; two sisters, Maxine Trenary and Marguerite Reetz and other extended family members.
