STORM LAKE - A young Estherville Lincoln Central Girls Track Team got their collective feet wet at the 2013 Lakes Indoor Meet in Storm Lake on Tuesday.

Caitlyn Clayton paced the Midgets with a throw of 37 feet, 9 inches in the shot put to place third.

"It was nice to get the first meet out of the way," said ELC coach Tina Burton. "Over half the team hasn't seen a track meet or at least a high school track meet.

"We hope our track clears up so we can get some practices in the next couple days," she added.

Other ELC results from Tuesday are as follows.

Taylor Greig leaped 13 feet, 2 inches in the long jump and Taylor Karels leaped 12 feet, 8 3/4 inches.

The shuttle hurdle relay team of Rachel Bates, Greig, Alicia Jorgenson and Jordan Phillips finished in 49.67 seconds.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Bates Colleen Humble, Cydnie Jo Anderson and Brianna Enerson finished in 11:48.

In the 550-meter hurdles, Phillips clocked in at 10.06 seconds.

In the 1500-meter dash, Enerson finished in 6:07, Anderson in 6:37, Humble in 6:45 and MariaJose Rodriguez in 7:38.

In the 55-meter dash, Briseide Segura finished in 8.41 seconds, Carson Gjerde in 8.98 seconds and Glenis Ramirez in 9.32 seconds.

ELC is scheduled to host a triangular meet next Tuesday, weather permitting.
