Local girl tied for 14th on ESPN NCAA bracket

March 27, 2013
by David Swartz - Managing Editor , Estherville Daily News

So you're in 14th place in a pool with an estimated 8 million participants on ESPN.com's (free) Bracket Manager Challenge.

Pshaw. That's something a 9-year-old could do.

Abby Sander, the 9-year-old daughter of Kevin and Marcy Sander of Estherville, has 14 of her Sweet 16 picks correct on her bracket.

Her mom Marcy said Abby chose her teams by where she would like to go on vacation, where her pen pal is from and by the teams with the coolest logo.

Abby has lost one Final Four team with the loss of Gonzaga.

However, she has Oregon and Miami (FL) in the championship game with Miami winning. Kansas is her other Final Four team.
