Kirkwood too much for Lakers

CEDAR RAPIDS - The Iowa Lakes baseball team dropped its two more games to Kirkwood on Monday in Cedar Rapids.

The Eagles shut out the Lakers 10-0 in five innings in the first game and then won 13-8 in the second game.

Jesus Brito took the loss for the Lakers. Iowa Lakes managed just two hits. Leonard Ramirez and Kevin Arroyo each went 1-2.

In the second game, Kirkwood out-hit Iowa Lakes 19-11. Alcides Fuguet took the los on the mound.

At the plate, Oscar Galagarza was 2-3 with two runs, Steve Kandborg was 2-3 with a double and three runs, Edwin Torres was 2-4 with four RBIs and Edison Perez was 2-4 with a run.

Iowa Lakes (6-10 overall, 0-4 in conference play) travels to Storm Lake to face the Buena Vista Junior Varsity on Thursday.
