When can we jump into spring sports?

April 19, 2013
By David Swartz - Managing Editor , Estherville Daily News

Mother Nature hasn't been very cooperative this spring. Spring sports rely on having good weather and there hasn't been much through the first three weeks of April with two snowstorms, cold temperatures and rain.

Although there is a chance for rain Monday and Tuesday, Estherville Lincoln Central athletes are ready to begin the week with a full slate of activities.

On Monday, The ELC boys' golf team will be at Spencer while the girls' tennis will be home with Storm Lake.

The ELC boys' tennis team will be at Storm Lake with the ELC boys' team attempting to host the 92nd running of the Estherville Relays.

The girls' track team is scheduled to travel to Humboldt.

On Tuesday, the ELC girls will try to host their home meet, rescheduled from Friday. The tennis teams will take on Cherokee with the girls again at home and the boys at Cherokee.

The golf teams will be taking on Emmetsburg and Western Christian with the girls in Emmetsburg and the boys in Hull.

Thursday's events include boys' golf at Brooks Golf Course and girls track at Storm Lake.

On Friday, the ELC teams will take on Spencer with the boys at home and the girls in Spencer.

Saturday, both golf teams are in action with the girls at Livermore and the boys at Lake Creek Country Club in Storm Lake.

The tennis teams will be competing in their respective Lakes Conference Tournament meets-the girls at Spirit Lake and the boys at Storm Lake.
