ELC splits with Spirit Lake, LeMars

OKOBOJI - The Estherville Lincoln Central Boys Golf Team returned to the course Thursday in a Lakes Conference double dual.

Host Spirit Lake came out on top with a 162 while the Midgets shot a 173 and LeMars shot a 182.

Spirit Lake swept medalist honors with Zach Skopec shooting a 37 while Corey Potter shot a 40.

Corey Reeves led ELC with a 41 while Jack Brashear shot a 43, Tucker Milburn a 44 and Chris Seylar a 45.

Non-counting scores were a 48 by Clay Tredway and a 57 by Hunter Gifford.

"It was nice to play on a decent day," said ELC coach Dave Van Roekel. "We still have to stay away from the big number and our scores will continue to drop."

In junior varsity play, Spirit Lake won with a 192, LeMars shot 195 and ELC shot 203.

Hunter King led the Midgets with a 46, Jake Bortvit shot a 50, Levi Quastad shot a 52, Alex Molacek shot a 57, Reese Vedder shot a 57 and Chase Erickson shot a 63.

ELC is home today against Algona at the Estherville Golf Course.
