Without volunteers, where would we be.
That has been a recurring theme April 21-27 - National Volunteer Week - and it was especially expressed Friday at the Rosewood Manor Volunteer Appreciation Brunch.
"We are privileged with the intense support of the staff that we have here," said resident Elmer Weir, extolling the hard work of the staff as well as volunteers. "They are there to help you."
Weir said anyone that can come in for an hour or two can greatly help support the efforts of staff.
Activities director Dee McDonald read inspirational poetry by Helen Steiner Rice with one moving verse, "Happiness is just a state of mind."
Administrator Lisa Lowe thanked volunteers for everything they did.
"It always takes a village to run a facility like this," Lowe said. "Our facility is based on relationships. We're here for each other."
"We appreciate everything that you do," Lowe said.
