Looft takes first to lead Warriors at home

ARMSTRONG - The North Union Girls Track Team finished sixth at its home meet, the John Larsen Relays, on Thursday.

North Iowa and Bishop Garrigan tied for top honors with 121 points each. West Bend-Mallard/Twin River Valley finished third with 106 points followed by Garner-Hayfield with 77, Northwood-Kensett with 76, North Union with 65, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire with 17 and Corwith-Wesley-Luverne with four.

Dena Looft earned the only top finish as she won the discus with a throw of 101 feet, 5 inches.

MaKayla Hardman finished second in the 100-meter dash in 13.36 seconds. In the 100-meter hurdles, Allie Ingalls finished second in 16.71 seconds while Jordan Guerdet finished fourth in 17.87. Ingalls also finished fourth in the 200-meter dash in 28.32 seconds.

The sprint medley relay team of Rebecca Boyer, Guerdet, Hardman and Jadyn Kissner took third in 2:05.82.

Boyer, Guerdet, Hardman and Sara Johnson also took third in the 4x100-meter dash in 56.03 seconds.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Hanna Gardner, Kristian Peterson, Alexis Laubenthal and Paige Taylor finished fourth in 12:34.32. Also fourth was the distance medley relay team of Elizabeth Boyer, Maaike Weiser, Emily Hagebock and Gardner in 5:14.65. The 4x400-meter relay team of Ingalls, Sara Rolling, Johnson and Kissner finished fourth in 4:54.36.

Rebecca Boyer, Taylor Mathine, Kissner and Johnson took fifth in the 4x200-meter relay in 2:01.29.

Rolling tied for fifth in the high jump at 4 feet, 6 inches.
