Black Knights Car Club members recapped last Saturday's visit to the Speedway Motor Museum at Lincoln at their monthly meeting Tuesday night at the Estherville VFW Trophy Room.
President Rod Ross showed a number of slides of the museum tour. He said members of car clubs in both Spencer and in the Lakes area indicated interest in making the tour.
Inclement weather put a damper on the first cruise-in of the season last Friday. However, there's a full slate of cruise-ins coming yet this summer on Friday, June 7, Friday, July 5 and Friday, Aug. 2 in conjunction with Sweet Corn Days.
The Black Knights Car Club Sweet Corn Days car show will be held Saturday, Aug. 3 along North Sixth Street in Estherville from noon to 3 p.m. Registration will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the corner of first Avenue and Sixth Street. Registration is $10 with dash plaques to the first 100 entries and there will be door prizes for registrants.
Trophies will be awarded at 3 p.m. to the Mayor's Choice, Best Mopar, Best Ford, Best GM, Best Truck and Best Paint.
For more information about either the cruise-ins or car show, see the Website at blackknightscarclub.net.
Anyone interested in antique or classic cars is encouraged to join. The Black Knights Car Club was originally founded in 1955, was reactivated in 2006, and has some of the original members.
Meetings are held at the Estherville VFW Trophy Room 7 p.m. the first Tuesday of every month.
