ESTHERVILLE - Funeral services for Rachel Moe, 82, of Estherville will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville with Pastor Randy James officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery in Estherville.
She died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville.
Rachel A. (Grange) Moe, the daughter of John and Sigrid (Graves) Grange, was born July 10, 1930, in Garretson, S.D.
She received her education in the Garretson schools, graduating from Garretson High School in 1948. Rachel also attended teachers training in Madison, S.D.
On Sept. 24, 1949, she was united in marriage to Roger Moe in Luverne, Minn. The family moved to Estherville in June of 1964 to make their home. Along with being a homemaker, Rachel and Roger owned and operated the Dairy Queen together in Estherville for 15 years. In her leisure time she enjoyed going south in the winter with Roger.
Rachel was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and belonged to the circle.
Left to cherish Rachel's memory are her husband, Roger, of Estherville; her children, Roderick C. Moe and his wife, Sandra, of Florida, Rolly C. Moe of California, Mark S. Moe of Montana, Marilyn S. Olesen and her husband, Darwin, of Graettinger and Carolyn A. Moe of Estherville and five grandchildren, Bradley Moe and his wife, Steffani, and their daughter, Emersyn Anne Moe, Heather Moe, Valerie Moe, Brian Olesen and Anne Netsch and her husband, Tom.
