STORM LAKE - The Estherville Lincoln Central girls golfers shot their best score of the year in the final Lakes Conference triangular meet on Friday.
While ELC didn't quite shoot low enough to best Storm Lake, the Midgets finished with a 222.
Led by Medalist Rylee James, Storm Lake shot a 214. LeMars shot a 260.
"Lake Creek in Storm Lake is a tough course; it is long and has a number of hazards," said ELC coach Kevin Richardson. "The girls did really well on a more difficult course. Tia (Bernholtz) broke the 50 mark with a 49 and Shelby (Lappegard) played well with a 55. It was a nice night to play which helps.
"This is our lowest team score of the year and we didn't have to take a score above 60," he continued.
Bernholtz's 49 proved good enough for runner-up medalist honors. Both Britany Busch and Lauren Moeller shot 59s to complete ELC's scoring.
Non-counting score was an 81 by Caitlyn Tvedt.
In junior varsity play, Katie Kilpatrick finished with a 56 and Sarah Schacherer carded a 62.
"Katie had a nice round with some good holes," said Richardson.
The ELC varsity travels to Hampton on Monday for the Class 3A Region meet. Other teams competing will be Algona, Clarion-Goldfield, Forest City, Garner-Hayfield/Ventura, Hampton-Dumont, Kuemper Catholic and South Central Calhoun.
