KINGSLEY - The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire girls' golf season came to an end with a fourth place finish at the 1A Regional Final held Monday at Brookside Golf Course in Kingsley.
The rain held off long enough to have decent conditions.
The Titans as a team shot 415 using scores from Sara Harris (48-44, 92), Kelley Harris (49-51, 100), Alyssa Hoffman (58-51, 109) and Destiny Akridge (48-66, 114).
Also playing for the Titans were Caroline Koekenhoff (64-61, 125), and Cassy Hampson (65-61, 126). "The girls had a great season and they should be very proud of their finish," said GTRA coach John Fulton. "We had a chance but it sort of slipped away on the back nine. We will learn from this and with four girls coming back hope to do a little better next year.
"I want to thank our seniors, Alyssa Hoffman who was a four-year varsity letter winner and we will miss her leadership; and Cassy Hampson, who played her first year of golf and did very well playing varsity," Fulton continued."
Bishop Garrigan and Gehlen Catholic both advance to the state meet with scores of 357 and 393, respectively. West Sioux finished third with 399 followed by GTRA. Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn sho a 432 and Newell-Fonda shot a 444.
