ARMSTRONG - Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas R. Gibson Jr., 44, of Gruver will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Armstrong with Father Sunni Dominic as Celebrant. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Armstrong. Interment will be at Armstrong Grove Cemetery in Armstrong.
He died at his home on Saturday, May 25.
Tom was born Aug. 1, 1968 in Spencer to parents Thomas and Jolene.

He graduated from Estherville High School in 1986 and married Heidi Grimm in 1995. They have two children, Tyrel and Michaela Gibson, of Estherville.
In his early years Tom worked at Fareway Foods and for Connie Greig. He enjoyed working with livestock and competed at the county and state fair levels. Later, he worked for Art's Way and Dick Bahr Plumbing and Heating. After earning his master plumbers degree Tom went into business for himself. Tom was currently working for Nasco Equipment in Fairmont.
Tom loved fishing, hunting and golf and spent many hours with his children teaching them many skills. He especially loved to teach and coach wrestling and was very involved for several years with his children in the Estherville youth wrestling program. Tom had many friends and always enjoyed a good joke. People enjoyed being around him.
Tom is survived by his wife, Heidi; son, Tyrel; daughter, Michaela; mother, Jolene Rubis (Steve); brother, Dan Gibson (Helen); sisters Dr. Jodi Gibson, Mary Smith and Katie Gibson; Heidi's parents Darwin and Valoy Grimm; and many uncles and aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Gibson Sr.; grandparents George and Mary Hypes and Al and Mary Gibson; aunt and uncle Jerry and Maxine Crouch; and uncles George Hypes Jr., Pat Gibson and Jack Gibson.
