GARNER - Dale L. Reichardt, 77, of Armstrong, Iowa, formerly of Garner, died Friday, May 24, 2013 at his home in Armstrong.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 29, 11 a.m., at the Armstrong United Methodist Church with Pastor Lyn Roesler officiating. Internment will be at Concord Township Cemetery in Garner.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Cataldo Funeral Home in Garner is in charge of arrangements.
Dale L. Reichardt
Dale Leroy Reichardt, the son of Edward and Vinice (Ruch) Reichardt, was born June 12, 1935 at Bridgewater, Iowa. He graduated from Fontanelle High School. On June 16, 1956 he married Violet Mae Betts at the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake. They lived in Garner for 54 years where they raised their children. Dale was a partner in Nonweiler and Reichardt Construction in Garner for many years. He later worked at McKiness Excavating in Mason City until his retirement. In October of 2010, Dale and Vi moved to Armstrong to be near their daughter, Renae and her family. Dale enjoyed his family, golfing, reading and camping.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Armstrong and former member of the United Methodist Church in Garner. Dale served on the Garner City Council.
Dale is survived by his wife, Vi, of Armstrong; two daughters, Renae (Dennis) Haaland of Armstrong and Pam (Bob); five grandchildren, Matthew (Sara), Melanie (Nick), Michele, Brandon (Jen), and Bri; and one great grandchild, Ava.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and son, Terry Reichardt, Sept. 1, 1979.
