GTRA drops pair

PETERSON - The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire Softball Team is still looking for the first win this season after a 10-0 loss in five innings to Sioux Central on Tuesday.

The Titans were out-hit 8-3 in the contest.

Grace Skattebo and Morgan McGrauth each went 1-2 while Cassy Hampson was 1-3.

Alyssa Hoffman took the loss on the mound as she gave up 10 runs (four earned) on eight hits with eight strikeouts and seven walks.

GTRA (0-4) was scheduled to host Trinity Christian on Wednesday in Ruthven. The Titans are at Lake Park this evening for their first Cornbelt conference matchup.

Last Thursday, GTRA lost 13-12 to Sibley-Ocheyedan.

The Titans rallied from a 6-1 deficit with five runs in the top of the fifth to tie the game, but the Generals scored five in the bottom of the inning. GTRA attempted another rally in the seventh and tied the game with four runs, but Sibley-Ocheyedan scored the game-winner in the bottom of the inning.

GTRA finished with 17 hits. Brooke Hoffman was 4-5 with two doubles and thee RBIs. Cassy Hampson went 3-5 with two RBIs, Marly Bakken went 3-5 with three RBIs and Alyssa Hoffman went 2-4 with a double and two RBIs. Also, Morgan McGrauth was 2-4, Sara Harris was 2-3 and Alex Oleson was 1-4.

Alyssa Hoffman pitched the complete game giving up 13 runs (two earned) on eight hits with eight strikeouts and seven walks.
