Warriors roll past Bison in non-conference game

BUFFALO CENTER North Union pounded out 18 hits in a 16-1, six-inning victory over North Iowa on Thursday.

Colin Runksmeier pitched all six innings giving up one unearned run on one hit with six strikeouts and two walks.

Frank Campos took the loss for North Iowa as he pitched four innings and gave up seven runs (four earned) on eight hits with four strikeouts and four walks. Kory Hobbs pitched two innings and gave up nine runs (seven earned) on 10 hits with one strikeout and one walk.

At the plate, Cody Runksmeier was 3-5 with two doubles and three RBIs. Cleanup batter Spencer Ricke was 2-4 with two doubles and four RBIs. Jake Adams was 3-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Jake Govern was 1-2 with two RBIs. Colin Runksmeier was 2-4 with an RBI, Sawyer Doocy was 2-3 with an RBI, Branden Kollasch was 2-2 while Alex Deitering was 1-4 with an RBI. Also Logan Hellman had an RBI.

Indians win fourth straight with win over Cherokee

CHEROKEE - Spirit Lake won its second straight Lakes Conference game and fourth straight overall with a 6-2 victory over Cherokee on Thursday.

Alissa Christoffer went 4-5 at the plate while Paige Krause was 3-4 with two RBIs and Mackenzie Thate was 2-2 with two RBIs. Also Carly Ites was 2-3 with an RBI and Hayley Roberts was 1-4 with an RBI.

Bailey Newman earned the win on the mound as she pitched four innings and gave up two runs (one earned) on two hits with seven strikeouts and three walks.

Sami Ashland closed out the game and gave up two hits, struck out one batter and walked one.

Spirit Lake improves to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

Alesch hits three home runs in Titans' victory

RUTHVEN - Blaze Alesch hit three home runs and drove in six runs to help Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire defeat Trinity Christian 8-2 on Wednesday for the Titans first win of the 2013 season.

Alesch went 3-3 at the plate and drew one walk.

Logan Flaharty finished 2-4 with a double and a stolen base.

Zach Chicoine, Kyle Dalen and Ethan Petersen each went 1-3 with a double. Kodi Ferguson and Michael Girres also went 1-3 while Marcus Girres was 1-4 and Mason McGrauth was 1-1.

Tyler Hauge pitched all six innings giving up two earned runs on three hits with seven strikeouts and four walks. Justin Rodrigues pitched the final inning and struck out two batters.

GTRA (1-3) hosts North Union in a doubleheader in Graettinger on Monday.
