Starting June 15, walking tours will be held of downtown Estherville, featuring the original locations of historic sites.
Similar tours will be held July 13 and Aug. 17.
According to Jeanne Egeland and Doreene Hansen of the Emmet County Historical Museum and Emmet County Genealogical Society, the tours will start at 10 a.m. at the Estherville Public Library. Tour sponsors are the Emmet County Historical Museum, Emmet County Genealogical Society and Estherville Public Library.
The above photo was taken from the top of the old courthouse. The fountain in the foreground would be approximately in the location of the front of the original Carnegie Library. The street would be Central Avenue from Seventh to Sixth. After the 90-minute tour, the group will have refreshments at the Estherville Public Library.
