The Excel! Estherville Arts & Culture Committee is sponsoring a series of writer's signings from 10 a.m. to noon the second Saturday of every month this summer at Simply Unique at 610 Central Ave. in Estherville.
Michael Tidemann will sign his novel Doomsday: A tale of cyber terror, 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 8. Tidemann has taught morning English composition classes at Armstrong-Ringsted and later for North Union for the past five years. Tidemann will discuss his novel at 10 a.m. followed by a reading then signing.
Second in the series is former Emmet County sheriff's deputy Joel Jurrens who will sign his novel, In The Sticks, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 13. Jurrens' novel depicts how a small-town deputy handles a high-profile crime, with an added twist of a love interest.
Rev. Vance Toivonen, pastor at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong, will sign his book, Reading Jesus, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 10. Pastor Toivonen's book tells how we can all find a personal relationship with Jesus through the Bible.
Refreshments will be served at all three signings.
