The Black Knights Car Club planned its first cruise-in of the summer at it meeting Tuesday night at the Estherville Post 3388 Trophy Room. The cruise-in will be held 6:30-10 p.m. Friday on North Sixth Street on the west side of Library Square.
The first cruise-in on May was rained out.
Members will take a short cruise at about 7:30, visiting area nursing homes and other locations.
Members also discussed the Cruise The Lakes tour Saturday, Aug. 24. Locally, cars will gather on Murray Road and leave at 9 a.m. and meet at Okoboji Classic Cars on Highway 86 in West Okoboji. Registration is $10 per car, with registration from 9-11 a.m. and the cruise starting at 11. The first 250 cars will receive dash plaques at Okoboji Classic Cars.
Members also discussed the Sweet Corn Days car show which will be held Saturday, Aug. 3. Registration will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the corner of First Avenue and Sixth Street. There will be a $10 fee with dash plaques going to the first 100 entries with door prizes for registrants. The show will be from noon to 3 p.m. when trophies will be awarded.
There will be trophies for the top 25 entries by participant vote. Special awards include Mayor's Choice, Best Mopar, Best Ford, Best GM, Best Truck and Best Paint.
