ESTHERVILLE - Funeral services for Dennis Brandt, 74, of Estherville will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 10, 2013, at the United Methodist Church in Estherville. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. He died on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at his home in Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Sunday at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.

Dennis Lee Brandt the son of Floyd and Evelyn (Littell) Brandt was born Jan. 18, 1939, in Estherville.

He received his education in Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School in 1957.

On June 7, 1958, Dennis was united in marriage to Geraldine Marie Fisher in Estherville. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Estherville where they began raising their family and Dennis was employed at Golden Sun Feeds from 1961 until his retirement in 1999. Dennis also did custom carpentry work and was very talented in his woodworking abilities. He also worked for Delbert Bowman and the Maple Hill Lumber Company. Dennis loved raising Paint Horses and did so since 1966. He enjoyed participating in rodeo's and was both a bareback rider and also a bull rider. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing. Most important to Dennis was spending time with family and friends,

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville. Dennis was also a member of the APHA since 1966 and he was also a lifetime member.

Left to cherish Dennis' memory are his wife, Geraldine of Estherville; son, Matt Brandt and his wife, Janice of Estherville; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, David Brandt of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Craig Brandt and his wife, Lynn of Perry, Iowa and sister-in-law, Ruth Brandt of Sioux Falls.

He has been preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, daughter, Tammy and several aunts and uncles.
