Tonight from 5-7 p.m. is the first night of the Downtown Market, a wonderful feature in Library Square that has people coming back year after year, both locally and from out of town.
The market offers fresh produce, fresh baked goods, crafts and many other items, all produced or procured locally. It's a wonderful way to get out and enjoy the weather (between rains) and to enjoy local musicians and entertainers.
The Downtown Market will be held Thursdays through Sept. 5 except for July 4.
n June 13 - Amber Norgaard.
n July 11 - Dee McDonald.
n July 18 - Grandview Baptist puppets.
n Aug. 8 - Steve Mahin & Family.
n Aug. 22 - Grandview Baptist puppets.
The Downtown Market has the potential for being a real drawing card for Estherville - again, bringing in people from outside the community.
With the Excel! Estherville Arts & Culture Committee's focus on music and the arts, the Downtown Market is yet another feature that could very well help develop Estherville's reputation as an arts community.
So please come to Library Square tonight and enjoy some great homegrown music, great homegrown food and great homegrown folks - at the Downtown market.
