MILFORD - North Union scored with two runs in the first inning and continued to add to its lead throughout the night on the way to a 7-1 victory over Okoboji on Thursday.
The Pioneers didn't have a base runner reach third base until coming up with three singles in the seventh inning to score their lone run.
Cody Runksmeier and Sawyer Doocy both drew walks in the first inning. Runksmeier scored on a passed ball and Doocy scored when Spencer Ricke reached on an error.
The Warriors scored again in the third when Colin Runksmeier led off the inning with single, Doocy drew a walk and a single by Ricke brought in Runskmeier.
Garrett Johnson hit a solo home run in the fifth inning.
North Union scored three runs in the sixth helped by back-to-back doubles by Colin Runksmeier and Doocy. Jake Govern also had a single in the inning.
Colin Runskmeier earned the win as he gave up one earned run on six hits with five strikeouts and two walks. Matt Eckard pitched five innings in taking the loss for Okoboji.
At the plate for North Union, Colin Runksmeier was 2-4 with two RBIs and Ricke was 1-4 with two RBIs. Johnson was 1-3 with an RBI and Doocy was 1-2 with an RBI. Brandon Kollasch and Govern each went 1-3.
Indians blank Titans
SPIRIT LAKE - Spirit Lake won its fourth straight game with a 12-0 win over Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire on Thursday.
Bailee Newman earned the win as she struck out three and walked none.
Spirit Lake (10-9) is at Emmetsburg on Monday.
GTRA hosts Clay Central-Everly in Terril for a doubleheader on Monday.
