Bored? Summer seem like it's just dragging on? Well, there are plenty of things to do at the Estherville Public Library to keep kids of all ages interested and engaged.

On Monday, June 17, Lisa Laird will bring her puppet show to the Community Room from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Lisa's show this year is themed Dig Into: Diamonds, Dirt, and Discovery! It's a great match with the library's Dig into Reading summer reading program theme.

Emmet County naturalist Jenna Pollock will give a presentation on underwater exploration 1:30-2:30 p.m., also in the Community Room. Jenna will share what creatures are found lurking beneath the surface.

Lego League will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 22 in the Storytime Room. Again, in keeping with this summer's summer reading program theme, the theme will be Digging Machines.

Storytime of course continues through the summer. This month a bilingual Storytime will be held 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20 in the Storytime Room. Other times and dates will be 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, June 21, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 27 (bilingual) and 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, June 28.

Students entering fifth grade this fall and older are encouraged to join in the summer reading program theme and go "Beneath the Surface". By registering online or in person, teens can enter a drawing for an e-reader by completing a BINGO card. They will also receive a schedule of events for teens.

Adults can also be a part of the summer reading program and no registration is required. All adults need to do is turn in a slip for each book read and they're entered in that week's prize drawing. All slips will be combined at the end of the program when there's a drawing for the grand prize, a Nook Simple Touch, an e-reader compatible with free Wilbor e-books.
