ELC to hire new middle school principal

Board to consider other personnel items Monday

The Estherville Lincoln Central School Board has a busy agenda Monday including hiring of a new middle school principal.

According to the school board packet sent to media every month, the board will consider hiring Nathan Essary as the middle school principal. Essary has been a science teacher at Perry Community Schools.

Deb Lenertz resigned as middle school principal earlier this year.

Proposed hires also include Kevin White, freshman boys basketball and middle school boys track; Andy Umthon middle school boys track; Eric Francis, freshmen girls basketball; Amy Ring Rose, middle school girls track; Carly Van Wyngarden, K-2 special education teacher and varsity volleyball coach; Alisha Hedman, kindergarten teacher, Elizabeth Schnoes, high school business/computer science; Leslie Reiter, family consumer science and Lou Nitchals, high school night custodian.

Transfers include Stephanie Nelson from K-2 Special Education to elementary counselor and Jenny Nitchals from high school business to technology integrationist.

Resignations include York Plagge from his positions as a high school teacher, assistant softball coach and middle school boys track coach; Tara Joy, teacher associate; Marshal Doeden, 3-8 tech instructor; and Deniese Nicol, middle school secretary.
