LAKE PARK - Class 2A No. 2 North Union earned a pair of wins over Harris-Lake Park on Monday.
Allie Ingalls pitched a six-hit shut out as she struck out six batters and walked two. North Union opened with three runs in the top of the first. Ingalls singled and scored when Autumn Boland followed with a double. With two outs, Dena Looft brought Boland home with an RBI double
North Union added another run in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Sarah Rolling who brought home Kyarsten Mullen, who was running for Collete Haag.
Defensively, the Warriors turned a triple play. With runners at first and second, the batter hit a line drive to Ingalls on the mound, who through to Rolling at first. Rolling made the turn to second baseman to Taylor Mathine for the third out.
North Union finished 10 hits. Boland was 2-4 with an RBI; Rolling was 2-3 with two RBIs' Haag went 2-4; Looft was 1-3 with an RBI; Sara Johnson and Jasmine Clausen each went 1-3 and Ingalls was 1-4.
North Union took the second game 13-2 in six innings.
The Warriors jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning with a two-out, two-RBI single by Looft. Leading 3-1 entering the fifth inning, North Union erupted for seen runs in the fifth highlighted by a three-run home run by Haag and a two-RBI triple by Johnson.
Ingalls again earned the win. She went five innings and gave up one earned run on five hits with four strikeouts and one hit batter. Peyton Oleson pitched one inning and gave up one earned run on one hit with one strikeout.
At the plate, Looft was 3-4 with three RBIs; Johnson was 2-4 with three RBIs; Clausen was 2-4 with three RBIs; Haag was 1-3 with three RBIs; Ingalls, Autumn Boland and Rolling each went 2-4. Cheyanne Boland was 1-3.
North Union (23-2 overall) was at Lake Mills on Tuesday. The Warriors host Swea City this evening.
