WALLINGFORD?- The Wallingford Centennial Committee is seeking candidates for the Wallingford Centennial Pageant. The pageant will be held Saturday, Aug. 10 and participation is open to all boys and girls, ages 3-10, who have a family connection with the Wallingford community. There will be a Little Miss & Little Mister Wallingford crowned from the 3-to-6 age division and a Miss & Mister Wallingford crowned from the 7-to-10 age division. Participation in the pageant will include a brief interview on Friday evening, Aug. 9 or Saturday morning, Aug. 10. All contestants will be required to be present at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 10 to learn a group routine to be performed at the pageant at 10 a.m. The interviews and practice session will take place at Wallingford Lutheran Church and the stage performance and crowning will take place on the Centennial Center Stage. Each candidate must submit a wallet-size photo and a one paragraph essay explaining the child's connection to Wallingford. There is an $8 entry fee that covers the cost of a Wallingford Centennial t-shirt to be worn for the pageant.
All pageant participants will have an opportunity to ride on a float in the Wallingford Centennial Parade at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 11.
