Walking history tour set for Aug. 17

July 31, 2013
By Michael Tidemann - Staff Writer , Estherville Daily News

The third and final in a series of walking history tours of down town Estherville will be held at 10 a.m. starting at the Estherville Public Library.

The tour is sponsored by the Emmet County Historical Society, Emmet County Genealogical Society and the Estherville Public Library. Conducting the tours are Jeanne Egeland and Doreene Hansen.

The Aug. 17 tour will include the west side of the second block of North Sixth Street from NorthStar Bank to Bud's Cafe. The tour will take about 90 minutes, with refreshments to follow at the library.

Egeland asks that longtime Estherville residents come and share their memories of previous businesses in the tour area.

Previous tours included Central Avenue June 15 and the first block of North Sixth Street July 13.
