TERRIL - Funeral services for Gladys Henn, 99, of Terril, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at the United Methodist Church in Terril with Pastor Rick Johnson and Pastor Larry Mitchell officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Estherville. She passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Sunday at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.

Gladys (Higgins) Henn, the daughter of George A. and Gracia (Ressequie) Higgins was born July 21, 1914, in Schaller, Iowa.

She attended country school across from her house and graduated from Terril High School in 1931.

On Oct. 26, 1937, she was united in marriage to William F. Henn at her parents farm. The couple started a purebred Ayrshire dairy herd and they operated their dairy farm called Ayrmond Farm for 40 years. In their retirement Bill and Gladys spent 17 winters in Weslaco, Texas, until 1996. They moved to Wel-life Assisted Living in Spirit Lake in 2000. Bill passed away on June 16, 2003.

Gladys was a member of the United Methodist Church in Terril where she was a former Sunday School Superintendent and President of UMW. She also was a member of Semper Fidelis Club and Loyal Neighbors Club both for over 50 years. Gladys was also a proud 4-H member and leader.

Left to cherish Gladys' memory are one daughter, Joan Mohr and her husband, Greg of Spirit Lake; one son, Allan Henn and his wife, Barbara of Cherokee, Iowa; two grandchildren, La Rae Wendt and her husband, Bob of Marcus, Iowa; Layne Henn and his wife, Tanya Sioux City, ; and seven great-grandchildren, Nathan; Kaylee; Isaac; Erin; Levi; Jesse and Lilly.

She has been preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Harold Higgins.
