The Excel! Estherville Arts and Culture Committee Tuesday night laid plans for the fifth annual Gospel on the Square in Library Square in Estherville.
The event starts at 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, and will feature live music, market vendors and food.
Arts and Culture chair Steve Danielson outlined the groups slated to play to date:
n Jesse James Band.
n Dee McDonald.
n Steve Mahin and family.
n Dree Garrison.
n Vance Toivonen.
n Methodist Church chancel choir.
Nancy Clark said regular Downtown Market vendors had been contacted about being vendors during the event and had until
Friday to sign up. Additional vendors will be sought after that.
Danielson said Wa-tan-ye had indicated it would be a food vendor. He said arrangements were set to have the event on the local cable channel.
In other businesses at the meeting Tuesday, Danielson noted Music on the Square - held in conjunction with the Downtown Market - was done for the year. He noted "lots and lots of good comments on it."
Danielson said everyone was extremely pleased with the way Arts and Culture had coordinated the opening ceremonies for the burning of the cobs Thursday night of Sweet Corn Days.
Danielson said Mike Olson of Estherville will show his artwork at September's Neighborhood Artist Review at NorthStar Bank. He also said the book signings this summer at Simply Unique did well overall.
