The Iowa Lakes volleyball team earned its first win of the season by sweeping Clinton 3-0 on Tuesday.
The Lakers opened with a 25-8 win in the first game, 25-14 in the second and 25-20 in the third.
Coach Scott Tschetter, now in his 16th year as head coach of the Lakers, noted his team of all freshmen still has a ways to go.

"We're as athletic as any team we've faced," he said. "We're just all freshmen."
The Lakers (1-6 overall) travel to the Kirkwood Tournament (Sept. 6-7) and will play the No. 1, 3, 6 and 10 ranked teams in the country in Division II.
Shelbie Budmayr led the attack in Tuesday's match with 11 kills while Paitton Heltenberg had nine, Jordan Going had eight and Andrea Orth and Allison Adamy each had seven.
Setter Michelle VanEpps had 33 assists to go along with a team-high six digs and five ace serves.
Orth and Nicolette O'Keefe each had five digs. Orth also had three ace serves and Going and Budmayr each had two aces.
