Christensen finishes fifth at home

Lee Christensen continues to lead the Estherville Lincoln Central Boys Cross Country Team.

At the Midgets' home meet on Tuesday. Christensen placed fifth on the 5-kilometer course in 17 minutes, 32 seconds.

"Lee continues to try to push himself," said ELC coach Tina Burton. "He's making himself uncomfortable which is what he needs to do to make himself better."

ELC finished seventh overall with 162 points.

Teammates Kelly Christensen and Tristan Fales finished in a dead heat with Clabaugh edging Fales for 29th place. Clabaugh clocked in at 19:53.56 while Fales finished in 19:53.80. Drew Condon placed 48th in 22:08 while Dorde Komlen placed 50th in 23:31.

Also, Isaac Jorgenson placed 53rd in 25:54.

Burton said the boys need to move up in the pack and simply get faster.

ELC travels to a meet hosted by Ridge View in Holstein Saturday. The Midgets are in Storm Lake on Tuesday.

The ELC junior varsity had some additions to the team. Kevin Dong placed 18th in 21:50, Alex Miller placed 38th in 23:41, Evan Drew placed 52nd and Alex Acht placed 57th.
