ARMSTRONG - It wasn't much of a celebration for North Union on homecoming night as Western Christian left town with a 36-7 victory.

The Warriors struggled to do much offensively against the Wolfpack.

The hosts had an early chance to score after Cody Runksmeier returned the opening kickoff to the Western Christian 40-yard line. Three plays later, the Warriors had to punt, but they got the ball back when the Wolfpack coughed it up a couple plays later.

But after one first down took the ball to the 17, Western Christian held for three downs and then blocked the field goal attempt.

The Wolfpack then went to work and marched straight down the field. Quarterback Daniel Van Maanen ran the ball in from 6 yards out. After North Union was called for an offside penalty on the extra point attempt, Western Christian's Drew Van Sloten ran in the two-point conversion as the visitors led 8-0 with 2:38 remaining in the first quarter.

Western Christian got the ball back again in the period, this time scoring on a 35-yard pass play to Ethan Henchel at the 1:17 mark.

The Wolfpack scored 14 more points in the second quarter to lead 29-0 at the break. A third-quarter score started the running clock as the visitors led 36-0.
